The Every Woman’s Dream Foundation (EWD) over the weekend embarked on “Operation Stop Crawling”, an event organized to give 100 wheelchairs to 100 persons living with disability (PWD) as well as encourage them not to give up in life.

 

 

Every Woman Woman dream was birthed out of the founder’s desire to help the less privileged and keep them off the street. Since the foundation kicked off, lots of women has been empowered financially. EWD is a shoulder for the less privileged to lean on.

As part of efforts to do more for PWDs, the founder of EWD on Saturday put smiles on the faces of persons that has been crawling for years, while speaking to Chioma Jumbo Blog, Duru said the preparation for the event started a long time ago and it is a dream come true to see PWDs with wheels as it will enable them to go about their daily activities without hitches.

Yvonne Duru also appreciated partners of EWD such as Stiftung Sudtiroler Sparkasse Foundazione Cassa Di Risparmio for making it possible for the event to hold, adding that skill acquisition programme for persons living with disability will be coming up next.

Duru further explained that the beneficiaries came from the five states that make up the southeast and over time it will be done nationally so that every woman can benefit from the foundation no matter where they are.

One of the beneficiaries, Oli Benedeth Ekene couldn’t contain her happiness and thanked the organizer and founder of the event.

Nkechi Igbokwe who came all the way from Onitsha north in Anambra state said the wheelchairs are new and she is happy that moving around has been made easier for her

Another beneficiary, Ndeme Scholastica said she is beyond grateful and prayed that the blessings of God will always be with her.
