The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu says state governors are in a better position to tackle the issue of kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry in Nigeria.
The former governor of Abia State made this known today during a courtesy call on Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in Lokoja
He advised state governors to arise and tackle the issue of kidnapping, banditry and general insecurity in the country, adding that the alarming cases of kidnapping, banditry and armed robbery across the country in recent times is very worrisome.
Kalu noted that the governors remain the best leaders that could effectively use their positions to remedy the situation.
The former governor also commended Bello for ensuring the security of lives and property in Kogi State and called on other governor’s to emulate him.
According to him, Kogi is most peaceful under the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello. The harmonious coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the state attests to this and this is worthy of emulation.
The Senate Chief Whip also commended Bello for empowering youths and women by creating more opportunities for them.
